Two names are called together to prison by the protest, but outside of it the same concrete binds them. While Sali Berisha provides support from a distance for the protest, his family's wealth flows from the pen of Edi Rama. This is not opposition but an infiltration that serves the very person the protest seeks to overthrow.
There is something wrong with Sali Berisha's oaths that he supports the civic protest. A man who is calling for the overthrow of Edi Rama is also the man whose family's wealth, at least recently, depends, tower after tower, permit after permit, on Edi Rama's firm. This contradiction is not a detail. It is the key to understanding why the Berisha family is not an ally of the revolt, but the Trojan Horse of the regime within it.
Start with the role Berisha has chosen. The protesters do not want him. From the podium to the marches, citizens shout "Berisha in prison" with the same force with which they shout "Rama in prison" . But instead of respecting this refusal, Berisha seeks to impose himself on the protest from the outside, with statuses on Facebook, with statements from the parliamentary group and with calls for "support" for the Democrats to come out en masse, while he himself stands aside "because he is a party member".
Why this calculated distance? Because Berisha is today a person under indictment, a defendant before the Special Court against Corruption in the "Partizani" file, where SPAK accuses him of passive corruption and where the prosecution has concluded that about five million euros were laundered from the affair. A man embarrassed by justice urgently needs a popular wave to cover him, and the civic protest fell into his hands as a gift. His support is not solidarity but shelter.
And it is a delayed shelter, because in the early days Berisha stood on the wrong side. When the protest began, he did not align himself with the citizens, but called the movement a game orchestrated by Edi Rama, repeating the regime's thesis word for word. His family's television station, Syri TV, presented the protesters as "Sorrosians", that is, as provocateurs in the service of foreign interests. So at first the Berisha family did not stand against the government, but against the square. The turning point came only after the movement grew and the protesters knocked on the door of the DP headquarters. Within a few days, Berisha went from denying the protest to embracing it. Berisha changed his stance as soon as he was scared by the protesters who went to the party. Whoever attacks a movement when it is small and embraces it when it becomes big, does not support it. He hunts it down to catch it.
Por strehimi është vetëm gjysma e historisë. Gjysma tjetër është beton, dhe ajo e tradhton plotësisht pretendimin se Berisha dhe Rama janë armiq. Vetë afera "Partizani", nga e cila buron sot procesi gjyqësor, u bë e mundur nga firma e Edi Ramës. Më 8 qershor 2006, Këshilli i Rregullimit të Territorit i Bashkisë së Tiranës, i kryesuar nga kryebashkiaku i atëhershëm Edi Rama, ndryshoi destinacionin e truallit të kompleksit sportiv nga zonë sportive në zonë banimi. Në fund të vitit 2007, i njëjti këshill miratoi sheshin e ndërtimit me vendimin numër 136, që mban firmën e Edi Ramës, dhe pak muaj më vonë erdhi leja e parë e ndërtimit. Mbi këtë truall u ngritën rreth 17 deri 19 kulla, pasuria me të cilën sot krenohet dhëndri ''faqezi'' i Berishës. Ironia është aq e madhe sa Berisha vetë, kur mbron veten, e thotë hapur: destinacioni u ndryshua me firmën e Edi Ramës, jo me të tijën. Pikërisht.
Partneriteti nuk mbaroi në vitin 2008 por vazhdoi me dekada. Sipas investigimeve të publikuara, përfshirë ato të botuara nga vetë Pamfleti, dhëndri i Berishës Jamarbër Malltezi ka marrë nga pushteti i Edi Ramës leje për të paktën dymbëdhjetë komplekse pallatesh dhe vilash në Tiranë dhe më gjerë, nga "Mangalem 21", "Magnet", "Kaimi", "Kadiu", "OXA" e deri te "Aba" dhe projekti në zonën e mbrojtur të Drilonit. Detaji më rrëqethës është kohëzgjatja e favorit: leje ndërtimi përmes kompanisë "Kontakt" i kanë ardhur Malltezit edhe gjatë kohës kur GJKKO e kishte në arrest shtëpie me kërkesë të SPAK. Ndërsa njëra dorë e shtetit e mbante të mbyllur në shtëpi si të akuzuar për korrupsion, dora tjetër e të njëjtit shtet i firmoste leje për kulla.
Nuk është vetëm dhëndri. Është edhe djali. Shkëlqim Beshiri, i identifikuar si prestanome i Shkëlzen Berishës, ka përfituar nën qeverisjen e Partisë Socialiste dhjetëra leje ndërtimi në Tiranë, Vlorë, Himarë dhe Sarandë. Më 17 nëntor 2025, kompania e tij "Klar" mori lejen për kullën më të lartë në vend, gjashtëdhjetë e pesë kate në Bulevardin e Ri të Tiranës. Po ky emër, përmes të njëjtës kompani, është përzgjedhur nga komisioni i drejtuar nga kryeministri Edi Rama për kullën pranë Pallatit të Kongreseve, mbi një lulishte publike. Sipas po këtyre raportimeve, përmes lidhjeve të familjes, Beshirit i është dhënë edhe statusi "investitor strategjik" për një kompleks mbi njëqind e nëntëmbëdhjetë hektarë tokë shtetërore në Gjirin e Lalzit, ku njëzet e tetë hektarë janë pyll me pisha buzë detit. Kujtojme edhe se pas një kulle të vetme në Tiranë qëndrojnë tre persona të shpallur "non grata", Sali Berisha, Shkëlzen Berisha dhe ish-prokurori Adriatik Llalla.
Tani bashkojini pikat. Një familje pasuria e së cilës, së fundmi, rrjedh nga firma e Edi Ramës nuk mund të jetë maja e shtizës së një revolte kundër Edi Ramës. Kur kjo familje futet në protestë, çfarëdo qoftë forma, ajo kryen dy shërbime për regjimin njëkohësisht.
First, it discredits the movement, because Rama needs nothing more than to present the civic protest as Berisha's old game, and every presence of his people gives him this weapon at the ready.
The second, it seizes the movement from within, turning the anti-corruption cause into a narrow tool against only one corruption, that of Rama, while forgetting the other, that of the family that shares the same bargain with Rama. No matter how you look at it, the winner is Edi Rama. Therefore, the Berisha family, in protest, is not the opposition. It is Rama's infiltrated.
This is why the warning to the citizens of the square must be clear. Do not allow any statement, any status, any megaphone, any member of the Berisha family to enter your protest, because everything they bring there ultimately serves Edi Rama.
Your cry "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison" was not a coincidence or verbal anger. It was the correct instinct of a people who understood that the two names are divided by the same network of power, the same map of towers, the same logic where the state belongs to those who share it, not to those who fill the square. Keep that instinct. Don't let the feigned hostility between Rama and Berisha steal the only thing that is truly yours: a protest that does not belong to either of them.
Don't fall into the opposite trap. Distrust of Berisha is not an apology for Rama, on the contrary, it is the same demand for justice extended to both. A movement that wants accountability for Rama's wealth and his towers cannot make an exception for Berisha's wealth and the towers of his son-in-law and son-in-law. The square does not need saviors with a surname. It only needs citizens who do not allow anyone, neither Rama nor Berisha, to become the owner of their revolt. /Pamphlet
