The wave of civic revolt no longer knows borders! While 'Skënderbej' Square in Tirana is filling up with protesters for the 22nd time in a row, Albanian immigrants in Genoa, Italy have organized a parallel massive rally, joining calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the permanent removal of Sali Berisha from politics.

This Sunday, the Italian city became the scene of another test of the strength of the Albanian diaspora. The main squares of Genoa were filled with red and black, while citizens have improvised a podium from which voices are being raised against the Albanian government and the entire old political system.

"Rama and Berisha, go away once and for all!" - the protesters in Genoa shout in unison, echoing the demand of citizens in Tirana. But their message goes further: Albanians everywhere are no longer willing to remain silent in the face of their violated rights, corruption and the lack of accountability that characterizes the two leaders who have dominated the scene for decades.

Participants in the Genoa protest stressed that the time has come for society to react, and that immigrants, although abroad, feel the same disappointment as their brothers at home. They expressed that neither Rama nor Berisha anymore represent the will of the people, and that the future belongs to the youth and new honest figures.
