Starmer refuses to resign: Government will continue despite political crisis!

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has categorically rejected calls for his resignation, declaring that he will continue to lead the government and the Labour Party, despite the deep political crisis that has erupted within his political force.

During a cabinet meeting, Starmer said the last few days had been extremely difficult for the government and the party, but insisted that his primary responsibility remained the leadership of the country.

"The country expects us to continue to govern. That is what I am doing and what we must do as a cabinet. This is not the time for instability or internal war, but to show responsibility to the citizens who expect results from us," Starmer declared.

He warned that political tensions have brought consequences not only for the Labour Party, but also for the British economy and families across the country.

"The last 48 hours have been destabilizing. When politics goes into crisis, the consequences are felt by markets, businesses and families who face the cost of living every day. We must restore stability and confidence," Starmer said.

Discontent within Labour continues to grow. According to British media, at least 78 Labour MPs have called for Starmer's resignation or for a deadline for his departure.

The crisis escalated further after the resignation of the Minister for Devolution, Faith and Communities, Miatta Fahnbulleh, who openly attacked the prime minister.

"You, Prime Minister, have lost the public's trust. The country needs a profound political change and people no longer believe that you can lead that change. For the good of the party and the country, you must set a deadline for your departure," she declared.

Criticism from other MPs has also been strong. MP Paulette Hamilton said Starmer was ignoring the party's concerns.

"He seems like a stubborn man who doesn't listen. There are many MPs and members who are asking him to seriously reflect on his position, but so far we are not seeing any sign of change," she told the BBC.

On the other hand, several cabinet figures have come out in support of Starmer. Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden stated that the prime minister continues to have considerable support.

"There were many statements of support in the cabinet. There is a clear awareness that the government must continue its work and not be paralyzed by internal debates," he said.

In an emotional speech on Monday, Starmer took responsibility for the local election losses and promised to restore public trust.

"I know I have doubters. I know there are people inside and outside the party who think I can't deliver this change. But I will prove them wrong. I will not stop until we build a stronger and fairer Britain," he declared.

Meanwhile, alternative names for the party leadership are being floated within Labour. One of the most talked-about figures is Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, who is gaining significant support from MPs and senior Labour figures.

Even Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has publicly admitted that the party's current strategy "isn't working," adding to the pressure on Starmer at one of the most difficult moments of his political career.
