Meanwhile, Trump is expected to hold bilateral meetings as part of the summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as with the leaders of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and India.

Donald Trump will attend a G7 working session with Volodymyr Zelensky in France on Tuesday, but the US president will not hold a bilateral meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, a senior US administration official said.

The G7 summit will be held in Evian, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, on June 15-17. According to the official, Trump is expected to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as with the leaders of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and India.

One of the senior US officials, who briefed reporters on condition of anonymity about Trump's trip, said that Russian advances on the front "have more or less stopped."

He added: “We want the war to end as soon as possible.”

A Ukrainian drone strike killed one person and wounded three others in Russia's southern Krasnodar region, local officials said Saturday, as part of Kiev's campaign to strike Russian military and energy targets.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that debris from a drone caused a fire at a marine terminal.

The Ukrainian General Staff did not comment on the attack in Krasnodar on Saturday, but announced that Ukrainian forces had struck an oil preparation and pumping station in the Russian Volgograd region overnight, as well as targets in Russian-occupied areas in the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Zaporizhia.

These attacks come after Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had struck several infrastructure facilities deep inside Russian territory, including a military factory that, according to him, supplied components for Russian drones and missiles.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced that the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine has been reconnected to the power grid after repairs carried out as part of a local ceasefire brokered by the agency.

The outage marked the 19th time the plant has lost external power supplies since the start of the war, after an attack on an electrical substation across the Dnipro River severed the backup Ferosplavna power line late Wednesday.

The outage, which lasted almost three days, was one of the longest power outages at the plant, forcing the facility to rely on emergency diesel generators to provide the power needed to cool its six shut-down reactors./ The Guardian
