The death of Okan Keskin, the 44-year-old police officer who died of a brain hemorrhage after being raped at a car repair shop in Ankara, has sparked public outrage and prompted the release of security camera footage.
The video initially shows a car hitting the policeman, a father of two, causing him to react. The driver of the vehicle punches him, knocking Okan Keskin unconscious.
Other workers from the garage then attacked the police officer en masse, seriously injuring him. After the incident, the 44-year-old was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery, but died three days later.
The police officer's wife, Emel Keskin, described how her husband informed her by phone about the brain hemorrhage and the upcoming surgery. He told her that he had been in a fight and had been beaten by 20 to 30 people. Doctors diagnosed a 7mm displacement in his brain, with a risk of paralysis after the operation.

"Before he went into surgery, he held my hand and said, 'I love you, take care of yourself and our children.'"
"He kissed my hand and went into surgery," an emotional Emel Keskin told Turkish media. She added that it was unfair that he lost his life so young, as he did not react aggressively, he only defended himself. "Our children were left without a father."
Following the release of the video and the strong reactions, the company TUVTurk announced the immediate termination of cooperation with two of the defendants identified as the perpetrators of the attack. The case has sparked widespread discussions about police violence and security in Turkey, as authorities continue their investigations.
