Lithuanian Foreign Minister calls on EU: Help Moldova resist Moscow's
Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys

During a bilateral meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys assessed that Russia is acting to hinder Moldova's European orientation and reduce public support for integration into the European Union.

According to Budrys, the Kremlin's actions are aimed at influencing public opinion and weakening the country's process of rapprochement with the EU. He stressed that these narratives should not gain ground.

"We cannot allow Kremlin narratives to prevail ," he said.

The Lithuanian minister underlined that the European Union must act in a coordinated manner to support Moldova in implementing the necessary structural reforms. He assessed that this commitment is essential to limit Russian influence and increase the country's resilience to hybrid threats emanating from Moscow.

Budrys considered the strengthening of the EU's role as a key factor in protecting Moldova's political and institutional stability.

"The EU must join forces and help Moldova implement all necessary structural reforms and prevent Russian influence," Budrys said.
