The situation in Vorizia, Crete (Greece) continues to be tense, where a day ago, as a result of a gunfight between members of two tribes, at least two people were killed and several others were injured.
Today, numerous police forces have cordoned off Vorizia, dividing the area into 3 parts, where they are conducting detailed checks. A prosecutor in charge of investigating the crime appeared at the scene wearing a bulletproof vest, which shows the fear that exists even among people in the justice system.
Police forces have arrested two people involved in the bloody incident and three others are wanted.
The village has been divided into three zones where detailed police checks are being carried out on homes and cars, while armed officers stop anyone trying to enter the area.
Numerous police forces have also taken control of the hospitals where the injured and victims have been transported.

Members of both families have been hiding in the mountains to avoid arrest.
Meanwhile, more light is being shed on the loss of life of a 56-year-old woman, who was initially said to have suffered cardiac arrest as a result of the bloody incident. But relatives of the victim claim that she did not die from pathological causes, but was shot with a gun.

"The 56-year-old received a bullet in the right side, which pierced her lungs and exited her spine," says her relative, noting that the forensic report confirms that this is a fatal injury and not from natural causes, as was initially reported.

The autopsy-dissection was completed late Sunday night, while the 56-year-old's body was transferred to Chania. Her funeral and that of the second victim will not be held today, as the investigation is ongoing.
At the same time, new evidence is coming to light regarding the placement of the explosive device that preceded the bloodshed. As the deceased's relatives claim, "a woman gave the order" and as they emphasize, "there is evidence to prove this."

Police special forces (TEKAM – TAE – OPKE) as well as police officers from the Criminal Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate and the Heraklion Police Directorate immediately went to the scene. The Regional Director General of the Crete Police was also on site to coordinate the operation.

The incident resulted in the fatal injuries of two citizens (a 39-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman) as well as the injury of two women, who were taken to hospital. Two men were also injured and are being treated in custody, and their participation in the armed incident is being investigated.
