President Donald Trump said the US had "very good talks" with Iran over the past 24 hours, but added that there is no timeline for when he expects to hear back from Tehran on a US proposal to end the war.
“We’re in good shape. We’re doing well right now and we have to get what we have to get. If we don’t do that, we’re going to have to take a big step forward. But having said that, they want to make a deal. It’s very possible that we can make a deal ,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
Asked if there was a timeline for hearing Iran's response to the latest US proposal, Trump implied there would be an indefinite timeframe.
" Never a timeline; it will happen. It will happen, but never a timeline ," he said.
Trump also claimed again that Iran has agreed to his main demand not to have nuclear weapons.
" Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and will not have one, and they have agreed to that, among other things ," the president said, although there is still no indication of what Iran has or has not agreed to.
