Iran's proposal to end the war with the United States and reopen the Strait of Hormuz is a "generous and responsible offer" for regional security, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday.
Spokesman Esmail Baghai described the Iranian demands as "legitimate," saying they included ending military operations, lifting the blockade and releasing Iranian assets that he said were "unjustly frozen" in banks due to US pressure.
"The demand to end the war, lift the blockade and piracy, and release Iranian assets that have been unjustly frozen due to US pressure ," he said.
According to him, Iranian proposals also include safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring stability in the region and Lebanon.
"Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and establishing security in the region and Lebanon were also among Iran's demands, which are considered a generous and responsible offer for regional security ," Baghai noted.
"The US is the biggest threat to international peace and security. The very presence of the United States in the region, the US military bases in the region are an example of creating a cycle of violence and intimidation in the region," said the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman.

We did not demand any concessions from America; rather, we called for an end to the war and a halt to the piracy at sea against Iranian ships.

Meanwhile, Tehran issued a warning to European countries following reports of a possible deployment of warships to the region to secure maritime transport in the Strait of Hormuz, amid concerns about international energy prices.
Baghaei said Iran had "made it clear to the Europeans that they should not submit to the arrogant actions of the US and Israel."
"They should refrain from any action that would harm their interests. As I have said, this war is not only immoral, but also illegal. The US and Israel launched the attack on Iran. These European countries should not be involved in this matter," he said.
He also warned that any military intervention in the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf could cause further complications and intensify the energy crisis.
"Any interference in the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf will cause further complications. It will worsen prices and we expect countries around the world to act responsibly," he said.
Trump said Iran's counterproposal is "totally unacceptable"
US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Iran's response to the latest draft of a nuclear deal to end the war, calling Iranian positions "totally unacceptable."
In a brief call with Axios on Sunday, Trump said he dismissed Tehran's response, which Washington had been waiting for for 10 days, hoping would show further progress toward a deal.
"I don't like their letter. It's inappropriate. I don't like their response," the US president said, without giving further details about the content of the Iranian text. "They have tortured many nations for 47 years," he added, referring to the Iranian leadership.
A little later, in a post on Truth Social, Trump called Iran's response "totally unacceptable."
According to Iranian state media, Tehran's response focuses primarily on ending the war and providing guarantees that hostilities will not resume.
The Tasnim news agency, which is considered close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that the Iranian text emphasizes "the need to lift US sanctions, end the war on all fronts" and ensure Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the same report, Tehran is seeking an immediate end to the US naval blockade by signing an initial memorandum of understanding.
The Iranian proposal also calls for an initial memorandum of understanding, followed by a 30-day negotiation period. However, Iran is reportedly seeking the lifting of US sanctions on Iranian oil sales within that time.
At the same time, Tehran is demanding the release of frozen Iranian assets upon the initial signing of the deal.
The specific terms, if confirmed, are significantly different from the expectations of American negotiators, while Iranian state media did not report what nuclear concessions Iran would be willing to make.
Trump also revealed that he had a phone conversation on Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the main topic being the Iranian response.
"It was a very good conversation. We have a good relationship," he said of Netanyahu, adding, however, that negotiations with Iran are "my job, not anyone else's."
For its part, Iranian state television reported that Tehran rejected the American proposal, which it described as a plan that "implied Iran's surrender to Trump's excessive demands."
