The protesters have opposed Israel's actions during the war in Gaza and say the match is not just a sporting event.

Masked mobs attack the police including Antifa.
Reason? Against Tel Aviv being in the Euros.
Unfortunately the UK is too spinless to have such a thing as Water Cannons to push back the mob. pic.twitter.com/Tz1Sa8wKNQ
They are calling it a "match of shame" and chanting slogans against the Italian government and the city's mayor, Matteo Lepure, accusing him of being an "accomplice in genocide."
The march, which started in a central square, continued with clashes with the police. Stones, eggs, and fireworks were thrown at it, as reported by ANSA and Repubblica.

For their part, the police used water cannons to disperse the crowd.
The protesters then split into smaller groups. Some even used trash cans and materials from the tram construction site to build barricades.
The outcome of the security management of this evening's match will be fundamental also in view of the management of the next match between Virtus Bologna and Hapoel Tel Aviv, scheduled for next December 12. pic.twitter.com/ep07HCVbit
