Protest continues for 2 hours, citizens send message to Rama: Cancel

For more than two hours, citizens have been rallying in front of the Prime Minister's Office in opposition to the construction project in Zvërnec.

Amid calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, protesters have once again rejected any possibility of dialogue or negotiations with the government, insisting on their demands for the cancellation of the project.

During the protest, there was no shortage of reactions to the prime minister's recent statements. In a media appearance, Rama stated that he was ready to resign and for citizens to choose the prime minister they wanted, adding that he would then retire to the "village".

This statement was commented on with irony by the protesters. One of the citizens who spoke in front of the Prime Minister's Office stated that, before talking about resigning, Rama should cancel the project in Zvërnec and face justice.

"He said he is ready to resign and go to the village. But first he must cancel the project, give an account to the justice system and then go wherever he wants. Ali Asllani said: 'The time is for the shameless, but Albania belongs to the Albanians,'" the protester said.

The rally is continuing in front of the Prime Minister's Office, while the participants remain steadfast in their demand to stop the project in Zvërnec.

In chorus, the protesters articulated a series of slogans, including calls for the government to resign, accusations against the political class, and opposition to the project being developed in the protected area. The protest also heard slogans: "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison," "Sold opposition," and other appeals directed at political figures.
