"Summer is not over", Lajda Porja: Temperatures will rise again, when

Meteorologist Lajda Porja has predicted the weather for the first week of September.

According to her, apart from some local rains expected on Wednesday and Thursday, the entire week will be characterized by hot and sunny weather, while the weekend is expected to culminate with high temperatures, up to 36 degrees Celsius.

"We are in a sunny time, unlike the situation we experienced on Saturday. This week will be stable, except for Wednesday and Thursday, where there may be little and isolated rainfall, mainly in the north and partly in some central areas such as Tirana and Elbasan, but which will be transient and not problematic. Meanwhile, all other days will be sunny and, starting tomorrow, we will have an increase in temperatures, with maximums reaching 35 degrees Celsius," Porja told "Euronews Albania".

She emphasized that these temperatures are high compared to September norms, while adding that no storms are expected this week.

"Temperatures are higher than average for September. However, wind parameters will be somewhat problematic on Wednesday and Thursday. We do not expect storms or heavy rains this week, it will be a calm situation, with some local precipitation on Wednesday and Thursday. The hot days are not over, September will continue with high temperatures, but we will also have the presence of tropical storms which will be weaker than what we experienced while they will appear after the second week of September and also at the beginning of October ," Porja said.

As for the countries in the region, meteorology said the situation will be similar, with temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius and light local rainfall in midweek.

"The same situation will be in countries in the region such as Kosovo and North Macedonia," Porja concluded.
