Long lines of vehicles have formed at the Bllata border crossing, which connects Albania with North Macedonia. According to information from the field, the line of cars extends from the Maqellara roundabout to Dibër e Madhe, spanning over 10 kilometers on both sides of the border.
The flow of movement is related to the massive departure of residents of the Dibër region to the neighboring country to stock up on fuel. Sources on the ground indicate that the price of oil in North Macedonia is about 700 lek per liter lower than in Albania, prompting this unusual movement.
The situation is also problematic at gas stations in Macedonian territory. There are reports of long lines of vehicles with Albanian license plates, with drivers waiting up to 3 hours to refuel.
According to sources, some gas stations in North Macedonia are nearing emptying due to high demand for fuel.
Border authorities are trying to manage the flow, while citizens face long waits and heavy traffic.
