The Technical Advisory Committee for measures against the fire season met at the National Civil Protection Agency.
The Commission was chaired by the General Director of AKMC Haki Çako and by representatives of structures that have responsibilities in the field of civil protection.
Brigadier General Ms. Razije Mehmeti, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Mr. Arben Cara, General Director of Fire Protection and Rescue, Skënder Brataj, General Director of the National Center for Medical Emergency, and Dhimitraq Ziu, Director of the Department of Order and Security at the DPPSH, spoke about the readiness for ground and air support, logistical capacities and interventions in support of local structures.
During the meeting, the situation created by high temperatures was analyzed and the commitment of local, regional and central structures in fire management was evaluated.
The General Director of AKMC, Haki Çako, announced that from June 22 to today, 160 fires have been registered throughout the country.
" The first days of June and July, with significant temperatures, have put to the test the commitment of local, regional, and national structures, which have been supported by all the structures present here, such as the State Police, Fire Protection and Rescue, the Armed Forces, Emergency Medical Services and other units, which are in support of the management of these fires. I must emphasize that during the period from June 22 to today, 160 fires have been identified and registered, of which 127 cases were in areas with vegetation, shrubs, thorns, forests and urban waste and 33 cases were urban fires, which were managed by Fire Protection and Rescue," said Çako.
Çako underlined that the Albanian Government continues to invest in strengthening civil protection capacities, through conditional funds and the support of prefectures, while emphasizing that success in dealing with fires also requires the cooperation of citizens to immediately report any fire outbreak, emphasizing that early warning remains a key element for rapid and effective intervention.
"Wishing once again to convey the message to all structures and all units of the Local Government and to the community, I would like to emphasize that all capacities of operational structures constitute the absolute attention of the Albanian Government with investments and assessments of conditional funds, but also with the commitment of the Prefectures, will continue to be managed step by step, wanting to bring the message that all this contribution of all structures and all our capacities is worthless without cooperation, without a reaction, but also an early warning of the entire community. The National Civil Emergencies Center at the National Civil Protection Agency is on standby 24/7, in communication and in intensive coordination with all main centers and operators of all operational structures, be they those of the State Police, Medical Emergency, Fire Protection and Rescue and the Armed Forces", said Çako.
