Journalist Artan Hoxha has stated that the civic protest has put all security and intelligence structures in the country into motion.
According to him, until last week, the anti-terror services and SHISH had verified 173 Albanian and foreign citizens, who were suspected of having had connections or involvement with the protests, but without making any detentions or arrests.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Hoxha said that the protest found the government and security institutions unprepared, which were then put into full operation.
"The large turnout from the beginning caught the institutions off guard. It took them a few days to put the institutions they have in their hands to work. By not assessing the situation, they wasted time to put the criminal police, the operational force, to work. There is a consequence why anti-terror was introduced. It is the anti-terror of the police, but also of SHISH," said the journalist.
According to him, Prime Minister Edi Rama has rarely activated intelligence structures to monitor developments surrounding the protest, while these institutions are working in a reinforced regime.
"In his own words, Rama has put these structures to work like never before. He does not respect the agencies, but he has felt the need so much that he has put them to work 24 hours a day, they are on alert. Even the police anti-terror service and SHISH. In the case of Iqballa, she was declared persona non grata. In fact, Iqballa was selected and served the prime minister's narrative, to show here is the evidence that Iran is involved," he added.
Hoxha stated that security services have created a list of people who have been interviewed or verified, but clarified that so far there have been no arrests.
"These services were made available, which is why the prime minister today has so much data on every person who speaks and has a problematic past. The list that I know and that has anti-terror today, we have heard some who have been called, but I consider it part, as long as they do not violate the freedom of citizens and protesters, they are doing their job. The list until last Thursday was 173 people, who have passed the filter, both foreigners and Albanians", said Artan Hoxha.
The journalist added that among the people interviewed there are also public figures, while emphasizing that the role of institutions is to prevent any possible danger to protesters or institutions.
"Goxhaj himself stated that he was summoned. There are several members, public figures. If they have information that elements from countries that are not friendly to Albania are involved in the protest, it is their duty and they should not be allowed to come. There are no detained people, only escorted, interviewed. There are referrals to the prosecutor's office. So far we have not seen any concrete activity, a risk to protesters and institutions. If it happens, it is the duty of the institutions to prevent it. If the mission is to supply Rama's Instagram and Facebook, it is another matter," he concluded.
