A cancer patient spoke out during the 39th protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama, sharing her story and raising concerns about the drug reimbursement scheme in Albania.
Amidst emotions, she compared the public expenses for organizing concerts with the difficulties that, according to her, patients face in affording medical treatment.
"This guy doesn't deserve to be called prime minister, he's a scoundrel! Today, when he gives all that money for a concert that several countries have not accepted, I went to get cancer medicine today. They only compensated me 60 cents. Shame!", she declared.
The patient said she had paid thousands of lek for the medication, while the reimbursement she received was minimal.
"I bought it for 22 thousand lek, today I received 21 thousand lek and 14 cents. Do you understand what a benefit that man has done to me? He should come to his senses as soon as possible and resign and liberate this people and Albania! Resign!", she said.
