"Albania has lek, but it is stolen", the strong message from the 39th day of the protest

The rally continues.

On the podium set up in front of the Prime Minister's Office, on the 39th day of the civic protest, activist Ilir Xhemalaj delivered a strong speech, accusing the government of losing touch with the real problems of Albanians, while spending emergency funds on activities that, according to him, are not a priority for the country.

He emphasized poverty, immigration, and the difficulties that Albanian families face every day, calling the use of public funds for Kanye West's concert unjustifiable.

" The reserve fund was created for citizens' emergencies. Tell me, is there a greater emergency than a mother who cannot feed her child? Or a young person who is forced to leave the country for a living? Or a pensioner who has to choose between bread with cheese and his medicine? Here the question arises, what is this prime minister doing to this people? Albania is asking for help everywhere, it has poured out into the open! ", said Xhemalaj.

According to him, the protest is not against music or the organization of events, but against the way citizens' money is used, while social problems remain unresolved.

" The Prime Minister chooses to take the emergency money and give it to a spectacle! We don't want to know how much the spectacle cost, but how much the loss of hope of this generation cost! A state is a state when no mother cries for the bread of her children, when young people do not abandon their country! We are not protesting against music, but about the state of the country! Against a government that steals our taxes for music! Albania has money, but it is stolen! ", he said.

At the end of his speech, Xhemalaj declared that a government's priority should be the well-being of citizens and not the organization of spectacles, while calling on the prime minister to step down.

" Our country's priority is that these young people do not leave, that pensioners come out to enjoy life like any pensioner in the world. Prime Minister, resign, because you no longer represent this people! Rama, resign! ", concluded Xhemalaj amid applause from the protesters.

Day 39 of the protest/ Lika: Rama found 4 million euros for Kanye West, but not for Albanians

Protest continues

The citizen protest against the government has entered its 39th day today, while dozens of citizens gathered this evening in front of the Prime Minister's Office, reiterating the demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

With banners and national flags, the protesters marched towards the government building, chanting "New Albania", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Edi Rama, you traitor, don't bargain with Albania" and "Rama resign".

One of the protest organizers, activist Edison Lika, declared that the rallies will continue until the prime minister leaves.

" We are in the square more determined than ever to demand resignation. The protest will continue regardless of the weather conditions. The most important thing for us is Albania. We are here to defend Albania. Our Prime Minister was given the urgency to allocate 4 million euros for Kanye West's concert. This government, which has accused the protesters, invites a singer who is banned in most European countries ," said Lika.

The activist compared the financing of the concert to the lack of funds in cases of natural disasters.

" This country has gone through earthquakes, floods and massive fires and we didn't have 4 million euros to send to the affected people, but we find it for a concert that no one needs. Many students are struggling to go to the concert, it's shameful. Not only Albanians, but also foreigners have boycotted that concert. Rama and the Socialist Party will fill it with the same patrons who filled Piazza Italia. They will be forced to go this Saturday too. Whoever is there, let them sing the Albanian anthem: 'Rama resigns' ", he said.

Organizers have announced that the protests will continue in the coming days, insisting that they will not retreat until their demands are met.

"Only prison can sober him up", "The people speak, the government is silent", the banners that stood out at the 39th protest

The 39th protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama was accompanied not only by calls and speeches, but also by banners that drew attention for their critical and ironic messages.

During the march from Skanderbeg Square to the Prime Minister's Office, protesters displayed banners aimed at mocking the government and expressing dissatisfaction with the political situation in the country.

One of the banners emphasized that for 39 days, citizens have been demanding answers, while according to the protesters, they have only received insults.

Another message was addressed directly to the prime minister, conveying the idea that only prison can bring reflection, while another banner expressed the protesters' belief that the government is not listening to the voice of citizens, despite daily protests.

The protest also included messages that placed the main figures of Albanian politics on the same level, describing them as part of the same governing model, as well as banners with references to the debate over the financing of Kanye West's concert, where protesters raised questions about the use of public funds.

Among the banners, an ironic message was also noticed, contrasting the protesters' accusations of spending millions of euros with the prime minister's statements about "crows and ravens", turning this expression into one of the symbols of today's protest.

Protesters declare that the rallies will continue in the coming days, until there is a response to the demands they have raised for more than a month.

"4 million euros for Kanye West, not for hospitals," the protester ironically says: Will the rapper himself come to the emergency room?

A protester criticized the way public funds are being used. She emphasized that the money intended for the concert of artist Kanye West should be invested in more important sectors, such as health and education.

According to her, the funds should serve emergency situations and not for organizing events.

"These could be invested in hospitals and education. They are emergency funds. In case of emergency, what will happen, will Kanye come?! There is no way," the protester said.

Following her speech, the protester also spoke about her choice to stay in Albania, emphasizing that she wants to contribute to the country.

"I have completed my higher education, I try to contribute to my country, I have no reason to leave," said the citizen.

Tomorrow is the 40th day of the protest, activist Kola: Rama should jump off the terrace of the Prime Minister's Office and save Albania!

The 39th citizens' protest is being held in Tirana, against the Government of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the entire political class in the country. Meanwhile, before the start of the march towards the Prime Minister's Office, one of the organizers, Arben Kola, declared that Edi Rama should be thrown from the Prime Minister's Office terrace the next day, on the 40th day of the protest.

He also asked citizens to boycott the concert of singer Kanye West, which will take place in a few days in Tirana.

" Continue to disrupt the algorithm and boycott Kanye West along with Ramovic, who has gone crazy and we hope that he will soon jump off the terrace of the Prime Minister's Office and Albania will be saved. Maybe tomorrow, when it's 40, we'll eat the halwa and be saved. Maybe tomorrow he decides to jump either from the charter that is coming from Turkey, or from the terrace of the Prime Minister's Office."

"The best of the best was like they do in Western countries or in India, where the body is burned and the ashes are sent somewhere, to another continent. So that we don't have his ashes, his bones on our land. Our country doesn't need a devil like Rama, neither on earth nor under the earth ," said organizer Arben Kola.

39 days of revolt, citizens flock to the square again against the old political caste

Equipped with banners and flags, they repeated the calls "Rama resign", "Albania belongs to the youth, not the party", "Revolution", "New Albania" and "The end has come for you"...

The 39th day of the citizen protest demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama has begun. After the usual gathering at Skanderbeg Square, hundreds of citizens have marched towards the Prime Minister's Office building, where the next rally against the government is expected to take place.

Equipped with banners and flags, they repeated the calls "Rama resign", "Albania belongs to the youth, not the party", "Revolution", "New Albania" and "The end has come for you".

Citizens of all ages, from young people to families with children, have joined the protest. Despite the fact that in recent days some participants have been escorted and arrested by the Police, and then released, the organizers say that this has not affected the continuation of the protest, which has been taking place every evening in Tirana for 39 days.

Although the protest began more than a month ago as a revolt against the tourism project in Zvërnec, it has now transformed into a broader movement against the government and the entire old political class. Organizers and participants insist that the protest is no longer just against a specific project, but for a change in the political system in the country.

The organizers have also announced that the protest will continue until their main demand is met: the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and a change in the political system.

"They stole my properties in Divjaka", accusations from the protest: Argita Berisha and Lulzim Basha privatized Himara

A citizen who took the floor at the 39th protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to the statements of the head of government. The latter had earlier described the protesters as "the crows and ravens of the boulevard."

In her speech, she made strong accusations against the government and the cabinet.

"He has the crows and ravens in his cabinet, in the Prime Minister's office. Half of them are in prison, the other half are there, while the oligarchs are at Olsi Rama's casino in America," said the protester.

She continued with the accusations against the government and institutions, while also talking about the banking system, property, and corruption.

"You haven't seen anything yet. Banks are laundering money. Gold was stolen, banks are being robbed by Linda Rama. The nation's wealth was stolen. What will this youth live on?", the citizen said.

She also touched on the property issue, emphasizing that it has been damaged by decisions made over the years.

"I am 70 years old, I don't need anything anymore. They stole my properties in Divjaka. Rama privatized Himara, while Argita Berisha privatized Divjaka with Lulzim Basha, for 1 euro per square meter. Where am I as an owner?" said the citizen.

At the end of her speech, the protester called for the protests to continue and used harsh language towards the prime minister.

"This one, Rama, will go to the crows, while we will gather here, all the women, to surround the Prime Minister's Office. Let there be bloodshed, only he will be skinned. We have been suffering with this corrupt system for 35 years," she concluded.
