The issue broadcast on the "Stop" show tonight is related to the urban cleaning situation in the city of Kuçovë, which has been left to the mercy of fate.
A field monitoring shows that as soon as you leave the center, the panorama changes significantly: small bins are missing, while many of the bins are depreciated.
In some cases, the waste remains scattered, creating an inappropriate appearance for the city. Since 2019, the cleaning of Kuçova has been carried out by the company Viola Green sh.pk, which won the tender.
According to lawyer Arben Llangozi, this process is accompanied by a conflict of interest, since the company's administrator, Sherif Kapllani, is a relative of the former mayor, Selfo Kapllani. He also claims that during the tender procedure, irregularities were found, including the exclusion of another firm from the competition, but without changing the final result.
The situation has worsened after the company's re-election in 2023. According to sources, workers face salary delays and pressure not to raise concerns, while one of the company's partners is reportedly under arrest.
"This process is accompanied by a conflict of interest, as the company's administrator, Sherif Kapllani, is a relative of the former mayor, Selfo Kapllani. During the tendering procedure, irregularities were found, including the exclusion of another firm from the competition, but without bringing about a change in the final result," said Llangozi.
Deputy Mayor Erald Shushari avoided a direct answer, while in the official response, the municipality admitted that the contract with the company was related to the period when Selfo Kapllani was in charge, but denied the existence of a conflict of interest, arguing that the administrator at that time was another person.
