Behgjet Pacolli's company welcomed the Supreme Court's decision, stating that after almost a year, its rights over the investment of more than 90 million euros in Vlora Airport are being restored.
The company "Mabco Constructions SA" has reacted after the Supreme Court's decision that overturned previous measures against the company in the conflict over control of Vlora International Airport.
Through an official statement, the company associated with businessman Behgjet Pacolli described the decision as an important step towards restoring legality, emphasizing that for nearly a year it had been deprived of its fundamental rights as the majority shareholder with 98% of the quotas in the concession company "Vlora International Airport".
" For almost a year, these decisions had deprived our company from exercising the fundamental rights of the majority shareholder; the right to vote, the right to information, the right to access the construction site and the right to control its investment of over 90 million euros. This situation has been a systematic attempt to de facto expropriate the main foreign investor of the project, which has harmed not only Mabco, but also the public interest and the reputation of the Republic of Albania as a destination for foreign investments ," the company's response states.
Mabco states that the Supreme Court's decision paves the way for the restoration of normality in the airport's strategic project, but emphasizes that institutions must act immediately for its implementation.
" The Supreme Court's decision paves the way for the restoration of legality, but does not implement it by itself ," the company emphasizes, calling on the Ministry of Infrastructure, the National Business Center and the State Police to guarantee the restoration of its rights and access to the Vlora Airport construction site.
In the statement, Mabco accuses the current administrator of "Vlora International Airport" and representatives associated with the minority partner of having prevented the exercise of the company's rights and the entry of engineers, specialists and subcontractors to the construction site.
" The State Police should not continue to be used as a private instrument to exclude the owner with 98% of the quotas from his construction site and guarantee free and safe access for Mabco, its representatives, engineers, specialists and subcontractors to the Vlora International Airport construction site ," the reaction further states.
Behgjet Pacolli's company states that, despite the economic and reputational damage caused during this period, it remains committed to completing the project.
" Mabco remains fully committed to the continuation of the works, certification and successful completion of Vlora International Airport, in the interest of Albanians, investors and the Republic of Albania. Vlora Airport can and should be completed with the international safety and quality standards for which Mabco is globally known ," the company states.
Finally, Mabco publicly thanked the employees and specialists who continued to work on the project during the conflict period, emphasizing that they maintained professional standards despite the pressures they faced.
