The government's Media and Information Agency has reacted to the fire that broke out in a building complex near the QSUT in Tirana, announcing that the situation has been brought under control, but has not yet been completely extinguished.

According to the official announcement, the area continues to be monitored continuously to avoid any possible reactivation of the flames, while the responsible structures are conducting checks in each apartment to identify injured or trapped people.

As a result of the incident, 6 firefighters and 2 citizens were injured and transported for medical treatment. Specifically, three firefighters suffered second-degree burns, two others showed symptoms of asphyxiation, while two citizens were evacuated from the facility and received medical assistance.

Around 70 firefighters with 15 vehicles, 50 police forces, as well as other support structures, including emergency medical services, the UKT, municipal forces and volunteers, have been engaged in the operation to deal with the situation.

The Armed Forces have contributed 44 personnel, 6 fire engines, a Cougar helicopter, an ambulance and a Land Rover vehicle equipped with oxygen.

According to AMI, the Armed Forces medical service, in collaboration with voluntary civil emergency structures, has been engaged since the initial phase of the operation, providing first aid and transporting the injured to the hospital.

The operation continues, while authorities remain on the ground until the danger is completely eliminated and the situation normalizes.
