The exploits of the mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, are endless.
As the landslide in the Currila area has become an emergency, with homes at risk and many families evacuated, Emiriana Sako has taken it seriously.
She stated that stabilizing the hill requires a detailed technical project and a significant financial investment, which exceeds the possibilities of the Municipality's budget. For this reason, she asked residents to wait until the funds, which will be sought from the EU, are found.
" Since January, we have been seeking the support of institutions to enable geological analyses of the hill and to draft a detailed project so that we can finance it. It will be a very important project and it has great value and we cannot cover it from the municipality. We will seek support from the government and international funds, as we can benefit from EU funds for the environment ," she said.
But can the hill wait until Emiriana finds the funds? It's a very large mass of soil that has moved and emergency intervention is needed. But for the mayor, it's not that she's spoiling the work, let the residents warm up in the sun.
