The citizens' protest against the government has entered its tenth day, with participants gathering again in Tirana to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and political changes in the country.
With banners bearing messages such as "New Albania" and "Homeland is Not for Sale," protesters began the march toward the Prime Minister's Office, continuing the mobilization that has kept public opinion at the center of attention for more than a week.
However, during Tuesday's rally, in addition to criticism of the government, the focus was also on calls directed at the head of the Democratic Party and opposition leaders, who were accused by some protesters of trying to politically benefit from the civic movement.
According to the organizers, the protest aims to raise awareness of all the concerns and problems facing the Albanian people.
"The more American flags the world will know, that this protest goes beyond flamingos, it is for all the troubles that the Albanian people have. You all need to remain calm, because politicians have panicked. Even the opposition, the leaders of the opposition are using people for blackmail, for shame," it was declared during the protest.
Participants insist that their movement remains civic and independent of political parties, while they have warned that protests will continue in the coming days.
