Former prosecutor Eugen Beci spoke about the new Criminal Code. He said that he considers some articles absurd. Beci criticized the punishment for the price of services to the liberal professions and the non-implementation of administrative contracts.
" The price for the liberal professions seems to me an absurd article, as well as interference in the administrative contract, punishing the non-implementation of the contract. These two articles seem absurd to me. It was time to create a New Code. Not the whole Code is to be thrown in the trash ," he told "News 24".
Meanwhile, lawyer Florian Bonjaku opposed the penalization of failure to appear in court. Both emphasized the need for reform, but according to him, not every new article is fair.
"The failure of a lawyer to appear in court and be punished seems absurd to me. Why turn this behavior into a criminal offense, when it is not something new. Currently, it is punishable by a fine, there is no reason for it to be turned into a criminal offense ," the lawyer said.
