SPAK prosecutor Vladimir Mara stated that elements of Albanian organized crime have established connections and cooperation with criminal groups in Italy, building new forms of organization and advancing the ways of carrying out criminal activities.
Responding to the Italian prosecutor, Mara said that we cannot talk about a nationality of organized crime and that Albanian criminal groups have found support in Italy where they have been strengthened and modernized.
"We must understand that elements of Albanian organized crime have found support here in Italy, creating certain models, cooperating, modernizing and advancing in the commission of criminal offenses."
"Today we cannot talk about an organized crime group or nationality, but we can talk about, yes we have organized crime, we also have criminal phenomena and in these conditions our cooperation is necessary," Mara said at the joint conference with the Italian Antimafia.
