Albania enters the 45th day of civic protest today, as hundreds of citizens have begun to gather in "Skënderbej" Square, from where they are expected to march towards the Prime Minister's Office building to continue the revolt against Edi Rama's government.
What started as a reaction against the Zvërnec project has now turned into a broad movement against the government and the entire political class. Organizers have announced that the protest will continue every day throughout the summer, without interruption, until September.
Before the march began, several citizens took the floor in "Skënderbej" Square, conveying strong messages against the prime minister.
A lady, in a statement to journalist Osman Stafa, called on Albanians to join the protest.
" Wake up, today is the day for revolution. It is time for a spiritual revolution. May God bless this country. This march, this protest, will emerge victorious when this one becomes king of the nation. Rama has made us ravens and crows ," she said.
Meanwhile, an elderly citizen made strong accusations towards Prime Minister Edi Rama, shortly before the start of the march towards the Prime Minister's Office.
" Rama is in clinical, nervous death. He will not leave without violence. He will not leave otherwise. There will not be a second '97, but there will be a second January 21. If he had a little brain, he would leave. But he has no nervous content and nervous matter ," he declared.
After gathering at "Skënderbej" Square, the protesters are expected to begin the march towards the Prime Minister's Office, where the next speeches will take place on the 45th day of the civic protest.
