December, a month not only beautiful, but festive and full of light… The air carries the scent of a special magic, as ancient as humanity itself. It is the month when lights are not just a decoration, but small signs of hope that illuminate and convey a message, for a more peaceful, pure and humane world. Even the world seems to sparkle differently in this month, even where there is light and shadow… Hearts awaken differently, where kindness and love are no longer simply words uttered through congratulations, but universal values. December speaks with the sounds of solidarity, to bring not just a missing smile, but a beginning of light and hope. In this empirical spirit, SMILE.al, too, no longer comes as a name or platform, but as a bell where every day, month and year, it has known how to knock on everyone's hearts, and bring the mission of humanism tangible in every form.
In a 5-year journey, always with new causes, SMILE.al has reflected the vision of a platform that values human capital as its most precious asset. With a massive impact throughout Albania, SMILE.al is now the only online platform, not only consolidated but also inspiring, transforming every initiative into a life-changing and unique experience. Founded with a clear vision by the Credins Foundation, SMILE.al has now positioned itself as an important digital instrument that professionally mediates the connection between citizens, organizations and institutional actors, thus counting contributions from not only successful but also multi-dimensional causes that transform communities. Over the past 5 years, the SMILE.al platform has served as a bridge for calls and realizations of numerous ideas, where various organizations have brought their projects based on tangible strategies on respecting human rights, developing the human being in all its dimensions, promoting values, and creating integrative infrastructures in society.
Ms. Elvana Hana, Executive Director of the SMILE.al platform, in the form of an awareness, through a special message, also shares her experience of the success and progress of this platform "...Life has taught me that every help is a blessing with great power, but investing in the community is a trace of history that every generation inherits...Many implemented projects are also a trace of evidence of a community that is not simply emancipatory, but of a human mindset where helping is the highest form of spiritual and emotional intelligence..."
In this regard, with the help of donors from institutions or individuals from all over the world, today these social projects and beyond have managed to change the lives of many Albanian people and families. In 6 open calls, over 2,000 donations have impacted the lives of over 114,000 individuals today. The orientation of various charitable foundations, mainly emphasizes on vital assistance, which are certainly useful to improve and transform the life of an individual. SMILE.al, meanwhile, is a mosaic of investments in various fields such as the environment, education, culture, sports, innovative and social enterprises, thus creating the perspective of an ever-developing community. Projects such as: “Training camp on the conservation of archaeological objects at the Berat Museum”, “Supporting maternity hospitals for newborns”, “Financial assistance for the earthquake in Turkey”, “Greenhouse for children and young people with intellectual disabilities”, “Creation of a professional academy for the Roma community”, “Entrepreneurs of the future, entrepreneurship laboratories in schools”, “With our heads held high, we build a future, not just a carriage”, etc., are just some of the successful projects, which today are a legacy of our identity as a society. In this regard, throughout the 5 years, every initiative of the SMILE.al platform is now a cultivation of values, showing us that humanity is the greatest asset of a nation. Thus, in this year's retrospective, the initiatives to bring about new collaborations and important projects were an ambitious effort of the SMILE.al platform to always bring about change by impacting the lives of every individual.
