Ilir Meta's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, called the GJKKO Appeals' decision to leave in force the security measure "prison arrest" against the leader of the PL political persecution.
In a statement to the media, Cakrani emphasized that Meta is being held in prison in complete denial of basic rights, but stressed that he was not easily defeated and that he would face it to the end.
"The President has been in detention for 9 months, it is unprecedented for the President of the Republic to remain in detention for 9 months without completing the investigations."
He is being held under conditions of political persecution, you know very well what he is going through today in detention where he has been denied basic rights such as making phone calls with colleagues, or members of the Presidency, or his family.
"Meta is there, he will face everyone, he is an individual who is not easily defeated. Meta will continue to face this ," said Cakrani.
