Its numbers, although numerous, are not just the insatiable who gather evening after evening on the boulevard. They are many times their number in Albanian families at home and abroad.
The alignment of several planets as an astronomical phenomenon has gained widespread use in the art of rhetoric as a metaphor for the combination of a series of factors and circumstances that herald a great success.
The three "planets" in a straight line in the political reality of today's Albania are:
1- Last night's popular youth protest on "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard.
2- Unstoppable investigations of high crime and corruption by SPAK.
3- The European Union is in the crucial phase of Albania's EU membership.
Everyone in their own lane. All for a great achievement. Which, for economy of words, we can call "New Albania", borrowing a beautiful slogan of the protest.

The protest is affirming itself as a major democratic event in Albania's post-communist transition. It takes place on the boulevard, but the broad spectrum of beliefs and interests of the participating groups, and especially their unifying demands, mean that it spreads throughout the country, house to house.
Its numbers, although numerous, are not just the insatiable who gather evening after evening on the boulevard. They are many times their number in Albanian families at home and abroad.
At its core, this protest is one that does not draw sharp dividing lines with those who do not join it, because its deep reasons are almost nationwide.
Zvërnec was the last straw. But the cup had been filled year after year.
Aerial photos or the enthusiasm of government officials when one evening there are fewer protesters than the previous evening are the inertia of their relationship with the forced rallies of the Democratic Party. We do not understand that numbers are an accordion, they are not an end in themselves, nor even the essence of a popular protest that lasts for weeks and months. Its strength is its reasons.
The longer Prime Minister Rama delays reading and reflecting on its deep reasons, the faster the day of a plebiscite that has not been seen in our country approaches. A popular protest cannot fail. Such a protest cannot harm the country. It can only do it good.

SPAK, the next "planet" in line, seemed to have closed in its shell after being challenged in the Assembly over the "Balluku" issue and the anathematization of Prime Minister Rama. Wrong perception. After all, it had been continuing its work quietly, without being complicated by either the attacks of politicians or the world of organized crime and drug trafficking.
The numerous arrest warrants of recent weeks prove it. The new charges against Belinda Balluku and other officials prove it.
The product of SPAK itself feeds the civic protest. It strengthens it. It gives it added substance and reasons to continue with even greater determination.
On the other hand, the protest offers SPAK the popular support that the DP could not give it as it should due to Berisha being an investigated and under investigation subject.

At the stage where our European dream is, still on the high seas but increasingly closer to port, the EU emerges as a great ally of protests not simply because they are a fundamental democratic right, but above all because it is raising demands and issues that echo the standards of integration into the European family.
Here we are not only considering the environmental standards included in Chapter 27, but the standards of participatory democracy, elections, the rule of law, accountability, transparency, public access to decision-making, the new opposition perspective, and Europeanism as our new home.
From this point of view, the people of protest on the boulevard and in the extension of the boulevard house by house to the most distant village are the vanguard. They arrive in the EU before the government and the Rama-Berisha political caste, which has frozen the dialectic of democracy.
He is the irreplaceable ally and guarantor of European values in Albania. We are now starting to see how the standards are being implemented. We will continue tomorrow when we become a member state. /MAPO/
