In a championship where foreigners can now play without limits in the Superiore, Vllaznia seems to be one of those teams that remains loyal to Albanian footballers.
In the 2025-26 season, only 6 foreign footballers are counted in the Shkodran squad, where 2 of them only have foreign passports while they are Albanian by origin. And we are talking about Aleksander Kuros with a Greek passport and Edon Murataj with a Belgian passport.
So if you take into account that Vllaznia only has 4 foreign players, starting with Brazilian defender Jago. The Moldovan footballer, Christian Dros, who plays in midfield, the German goalkeeper Leon Pohls and the recently arrived striker from Ghana, Charles Bismarck. So, excluding Murataj and Kuros, who together with them bring the number of foreigners to 6, specifically the Shkodran team in the 2025-26 season has only 4 foreigners in the team.
Thus preserving authenticity and bringing together the majority of footballers from our country. Where the 9-time national champions have also found a place for Albanian footballers from Kosovo such as Bajrami, Kastrati and Mala, with the latter also holding an Albanian passport.
So, an almost totally Albanian team, that of Shkodran this edition, does not follow the trend of other teams in the Superiore at all. With the vast majority of our football elite teams having decided to trust foreign elements and not local ones./ BW
