The fight continues, Rudi Vata answers again to Ilir Demaliaj: Oh sir, do you

Rudi Vata repeats again with Ilir Demalia. The long-distance debate that started after the publication of the book "My life! Football, Freedom and Paradise" by the former captain of the Albanian national team, continues regarding the authenticity of some of the facts and events that the former footballer of Sëltik Gllazgou reflects in the autobiographical book.

Vata exclusively tells Top Channel that Demalia forgets, or pretends to forget, some irrefutable truths. "Demalia has said that she will come to Scotland for the trial... This kind of pressure was usually done by cowards who used to say "wait for me to come there and show it to you. He forgets that I have put this kind of bluff threat behind me since I was in the dormitory with Shkëndija and "ate" the coal of the students' field", says Rudi Vata, among other things.

HERE IS HIS FULL REACTION:

"First of all, this gentleman says that I confused the word "illegal" with "private" and apparently I don't have a clear definition. No, no, it's not like that. I say I learned Italian ILLEGALLY sometime from 1978 when I was 9 years old. In that period, the concept of private was not known at all. Then you had no private property, no private car, no private cattle, no private school. He even learned the foreign language in the state. Those who lived through that time know exactly what I'm talking about. And I regret that Demalia mentions the term "private" when "privacy" did not exist. Just imagine what would happen if it was found out that my family paid a priest who had spent 22 years in prison to teach us foreign languages..!!! So I don't confuse it, because we have to evaluate things according to time. Then in my judgment private was equal to illegal. Work was also in the state or wherever the state assigned. There were no self-employed. How could it be explained that the priest was paid 50 lek an hour to teach me and my brother Italian?!

Secondly, it tells me that in 1991 the regime had fallen. No sir, the regime in March 1991 had NOT fallen yet. Just a few days later, on April 2, 1991, one of the most powerful demonstrations took place in Shkodër and four young men were killed, among them Arben Broci, a friend of my brother. When the regime fell, why were there demonstrations and who killed those sons of mothers? Agreed, the regime was in its last throes, but how did we who decided to leave our homeland know how long it would last? We could not foresee it and decided to run away. I left after playing with the national team, I played the minutes on the field and decided to leave for a better life. Is it too much now to call that action an escape? Maybe it's exaggerated, but we value it like that now, because that's what we called it back then, while we were seeking political asylum.

Thirdly, he tells me that he has been avoiding an unethical answer since he was a man. Oh sir, do you know where I grew up or not? In which neighborhoods and what have I removed? If I put ethics aside and speak the language of the street, he will never answer me again. But I have left that time behind, and that Rudi Vata that I was when I was 33 years ago. I decided to become a citizen that society accepts and appreciates. Most of us have been able to become gangsters and footballers. Including me. But I decided to become a footballer and go all the way to Japan to be who I am today.

To tell the truth, I don't think Demalia is a bad person nor negative. Not only because I like those who have a great passion for football as this gentleman has, but also because he too has decided to leave and make a radical change in his life. But it seems to me that some things are still unrealized and unchanged.

It raises the question of whether I feel persecuted? Look sir, I have not said that I am persecuted, but it cannot be denied that when I was 18 years old and I was preparing to go with Vllaznina to Finland to play against Rovaniemi, I got off the bus in Tirana and was told "You are not coming with us because the party does not want it". All of Shkodra knows this matter and you have Astrit Hafizi, the coach of Vllaznia, alive. Ask him, did Rudi Vata get off the bus in Tirana in 1987? Did they bring Faslli Fakje down to Shkodër? They left me there and I was only 18 years old. They are emotions that I experienced, not Demalia... And do you know why they did it? Because in 1987 my father was being investigated for being a UDB agent. A nonsense of those times. They even made a file for me. Met Spahiu told me after the 1990s. But that's another topic. I just want to stick to what I said in the book.

Fourth, Demalia says does the priest have a name and why I don't mention it to him. Yes sir, the priest has a name and I have mentioned him in my book. I don't even mention it so that you can read it in the book and understand that I have told the truth, from my point of view of course. Oh, and something about the priest who taught me Italian. I'm telling you he was a blessing in my life. He has blessed me. I think it was a sign from God that a Catholic priest who had studied in the Vatican taught me Italian. What happened? The priest's investiture and his blessing led me to become part of the Glaswegian Guild, a club founded by an Irish Catholic priest and the club itself representing the Catholics of Scotland. I thus became part of the wildest derby for decades, which was the one between Sültik Glazgou and Glazgou Reinxhers. I think that I achieved this because God had written it, but I also did my job well to get there. So whether I like it or not like this Tirana fan who despises Dinamo players, I am telling him that I have participated in the most important derby of humanity: Catholics against Protestants. The statue representing the discriminated Catholics of Scotland against the Protestants who are the people favored by the King and Queen." / TCH
