Kosovo suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat to Turkey in a home match, ending its hopes of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The defeat has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with some fans criticizing striker Vedat Muriqi. The player, born in Prizren and with previous experience in the Turkish championship, has been accused by some users of a lack of commitment, even going so far as to claim that he "sold" the match.
Muriqi himself immediately reacted to these accusations, calling them baseless. In a direct response, he emphasized that people who think this way could have serious problems, strongly denying the allegations made against him.
