Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez has been in complete isolation after yesterday's serious incident in which he fatally hit an elderly man in an electric wheelchair. The incident is still under investigation and it is thought that the goalkeeper may be found not guilty due to the circumstances, but his shock has been great.
Italian media reports that he spent many hours yesterday at the police station, giving his testimony about the serious incident that had occurred during the morning. He is reported to have been completely in shock by this event, as he struggled to give his version of events, where he had even tried to save the victim, by performing cardiac massage on the street.
Martinez underwent mandatory alcohol and drug tests, both of which came back negative. He was only released in the afternoon and it was revealed that his first meeting was with a psychologist. Inter have made one available to him due to the severe shock he suffered after hitting the 81-year-old.
The club has meanwhile put him on a complete break until an unspecified date, while the footballer himself has isolated himself from everything, even closing his social media accounts.
