International gastronomy guide, Taste Atlas, published a list of the favorite foods of some of the world's most successful footballers, to mark the start of the 2026 World Cup.
Like everyone, footballers have their favorite dishes. For some, it's a meal they eat occasionally as a reward outside of their strict diet, while for others it's a recipe linked to childhood memories.
These are the favorite foods of some football stars:
Cristiano Ronaldo – Bacalhau à Brás
Cristiano Ronaldo has often stated that his favorite food is Bacalhau à Brás, a traditional Portuguese dish made with salted cod, onions, thinly sliced potatoes, and eggs. It is usually served with black olives and fresh parsley.

Lionel Messi – Milanesa Napolitana
Lionel Messi has revealed on several occasions that one of his favorite foods since childhood is Milanesa Napolitana, an iconic Argentine dish that was created in Buenos Aires in the 1940s. It consists of a thin fillet, covered with tomato sauce, ham, melted mozzarella and, in some variants, fresh basil.

Kylian Mbappe – Jamón Ibérico and Manchego
Kylian Mbappe has stated that he likes Jamón Ibérico, a type of dried pork produced in Spain and Portugal and considered an important part of the culinary tradition of both countries. He prefers to combine it with Manchego, a traditional cheese produced exclusively in the La Mancha region of Spain.
