Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazario has revealed the two national teams that he believes have the best chance of winning the 2026 World Cup.
"The Phenomenon", a two-time world champion with Brazil, gave his opinion during the World Cup opening ceremony at Mexico's legendary Azteca Stadium, which was attended by many former world champions.
According to Ronaldo, Spain and France are a step ahead of other rivals in the race for the trophy, not counting his Brazil as a contender.
"If there are two teams that I see as favorites, they are Spain and France. They are above the other teams, although there are national teams that you always have to be careful about," said the former Brazilian striker.
His statement came at a time when FIFA released the new world rankings.
Argentina, the defending champion, has returned to first place, while Spain ranks second and France third.
Behind them are England, Portugal and Brazil, while Morocco has achieved a historic record by climbing to seventh place for the first time.
Although Argentina leads the FIFA rankings, Ronaldo believes that for the 2026 World Cup the two most complete teams remain Spain and France.
