
A young Albanian man fired a pistol into the air after the Albania-Serbia match, right in front of the Zurich Congress Center, in traffic and to the cheers of his friends.
The World Cup qualifier between Albania and Serbia on Saturday night was very emotional – especially for the Albanians and Serbs of Switzerland. Celebrations continued in Zurich after the match, despite the final score being 0-0.
In the city of Zurich, cars with Albanian flags have paraded through the streets, reports “albinfo.ch”. Some young people with KLA flags celebrated enthusiastically on the “General Guisan Quay” street, not far from Bürkliplatz, and even blocked traffic.
As a video circulating on Snapchat shows, a young man shoots a pistol into the air nine times. He is wearing a traditional Albanian head covering, a qeleshe, writes "20minuten.ch".
Swiss media writes that Saturday evening's World Cup qualifying match between Albania and Serbia was very exciting, especially for the Albanians and Serbs of Switzerland.
There were celebrations at PAMJET after the match, despite the final score being 0-0.
In Switzerland, inappropriate shooting is punishable under firearms law. And it's dangerous, even potentially life-threatening. Because the bullets are flying somewhere – sometimes at deadly speed.
Zurich City Police are aware of the incident. They confirm that it happened near Bürkliplatz on Saturday evening after the match.
" The investigation is ongoing; so far, we have not received any reports of injuries ," says police spokesman Michael Walker.
Zurich city police did not answer the question of whether it was a real pistol.
A news informant who saw the video on Snapchat told "20 Minuten":
“ I assume it’s a real gun. Or a blank.” Despite that, he considers the action dangerous. “This is completely unacceptable, in my opinion. The boy doesn’t look very old. Things could have gone wrong quickly .”
