A very disappointing moment was recorded at the end of the first half in the duel between Albania and Serbia. Striker Rei Manaj had a golden chance to put the Rossoneri ahead, as he missed from the penalty spot. His attempt was stopped by goalkeeper Petrovic, causing the first fragment of the game to end with the net untouched.

The last time the Albanian national football team missed a penalty was on June 20, 2023, in a match against the Faroe Islands, when Sokol Cikalleshi failed to score from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute.
