The second half of the Albania-Serbia match was accompanied by tense episodes, with the game being interrupted several times.
A cardboard cup, suspected to have contained water or beer, was initially thrown from the stands, which hit Serbian player Strahinja Erakovic in the head.
Despite the hit, the Serbian player was not injured and the game quickly returned to normal, while the fourth referee immediately signaled the security staff to take action.
Then the episode was repeated and the referee gathered the players, including captain Gjimshiti, demanding that measures be taken. The match was interrupted for several minutes and there was a warning to the fans that if there were such episodes, the match would be completely stopped.
