The Albanian national team will return to the field of play during the month of June, where it will play friendly matches as part of its preparations.
The Albanian Football Federation has made official the agreement for a match against Luxembourg, which will be played on June 6 at the "Air Albania" stadium in Tirana, starting at 8:00 p.m. The news was announced through an official statement and a post on social media by the Albanian Football Federation itself.
This match will serve as the first test for the red and black team, while the Federation announces that another friendly match is expected to be confirmed in the coming days, giving fans the opportunity to see the representative team in action again.
Meanwhile, the issue of the national team coach still remains unclear. The president of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, stated a few days ago that the federation is awaiting a response from Sylvinho regarding the renewal of his current contract, which expires in July. He stressed that the decision on the coach, whether Sylvinho or a new name, will be made before the June friendlies.
Duka also underlined that the Albanian Football Association aims to avoid situations similar to the past, when coach Edy Reja was kept until the end of his contract, while Sylvinho was forced to debut directly in an official qualifying match against Poland in Warsaw.
