Amir Abrashi will continue to be part of Grasshopper for another two years. The Albanian midfielder has renewed his contract with the Swiss club until 2027, confirming the mutual trust between the parties.
Despite a serious injury that has accompanied him during this season, the club's leaders have decided to rely on the team captain again, considering him an important element on and off the field.
At the age of 36, Abrashi is expected to end his career in Switzerland, where he took his first steps as a professional footballer. In the past, he has been rumored for a possible transfer to the Albanian championship, but such a move did not materialize.
After signing the new contract, the player himself expressed his emotions and strong connection with the club:
" Grasshopper is my home. I built my career here and I owe a lot to this club. For me, it has a special meaning to continue to be part of it. I do not take the trust and appreciation that has been given to me for granted and I am very grateful. I will continue to give my best for this shirt ," declared Abrashi.
The club's sporting director, Alain Suter, also praised the midfielder's role in the team, emphasizing the importance of his experience and character.
" Amiri embodies the values of Grasshopper. His experience, mentality and presence are irreplaceable for the team. He has spent every moment with the club and has always shown maximum commitment ," said Suter.
