Polish football has been shocked by the news of the passing of coach Jacek Magiera. The 49-year-old, who served as assistant coach of the Polish national team, passed away today, leaving behind a long career as a player and coach.

Magiera had a successful career as a footballer, mainly with Legia Warsaw. With this team he won two championship titles, four cups and one Super Cup. As a midfielder, he managed to score 25 goals in the Polish championship.

After ending his playing career, Magiera continued his coaching career, contributing to several teams in Poland. His last engagement was with the Polish national team, where he joined the technical staff led by Jan Urban in July last year.

Magiera was also part of Poland's coaching staff during the matches in March, including the away match against Albania. At the end of March, the Polish national team was eliminated by Sweden.
