Real Madrid defender faces prison sentence on privacy violation charges

Real Madrid's 22-year-old Raul Asencio faces up to 2.5 years in prison as he stands trial for breach of privacy and involvement in the distribution of material with sensitive content.

The public prosecutor has requested a sentence of 30 months in prison for the Los Blancos defender, while the process continues in court.

Asencio is one of four former Real Madrid academy players accused in a case related to sexual relations with two underage girls (aged 16 and 18), who, according to the court file, were filmed without their consent by Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodriguez and Andres Garcia. The video was then allegedly distributed to third parties.

While the Prosecution has also filed charges for distributing child pornography against Ruiz, Rodriguez, and Garcia, this criminal offense is not included for Asencio, but he is accused of violating privacy, as he is said to have requested the video to show a friend and then immediately deleted it.

On the other hand, the plaintiffs are seeking a harsher sentence for Asencio, up to 4 years in prison, and have included the distribution of pornographic material in the charges against him.

Spanish media reports that there may have been an agreement between Asencio and the victims, but so far this remains unconfirmed.
