A clash between the private clinic Vera-VIRHOV in Tirana and former actress, now blogger Eliona Pitarka, appears to be taking legal action. After the clinic's warnings that Pitarka had shared children's diets on Instagram, referring to her pediatrician, Edi Tushe, the battle between them has continued with publications on social networks.
According to a public statement from the clinic, the director Genta Dedej announces that she has sued the blogger for defamation, insult, damage to image and violation of the law, emphasizing that the process is based on the Criminal Code and can include sentences of up to 3 years in prison, depending on the specific cases. Any amount that can be obtained as compensation will be given to charity, specifically the Children of the Tirana Orphanage.
In its statement, the clinic explained:
Eliona Pitarka has no authorization to speak on behalf of the clinic's doctors.
She was treated like a patient, with fairness and respect.
Despite warnings given to him in 2023 not to publish inaccurate information about children's health, Pitarka has continued to publish publications that, according to the clinic, damage the seriousness of the medical profession.
The clinic also accuses Pitarka of:
Use of film materials without permission, violating intellectual property.
Sending threatening messages to the director's phone, documented.
On the other hand, Eliona Pitarka reacted on Instagram, explaining that she paid for her children's visits herself and that she received the doctor's authorization to share his information, denying the clinic's accusations that she was publishing data without permission.
This development highlights the clash between the influence of social media and the professional reputation of medical institutions, with the matter now expected to be resolved in court. The Vera-VIRHOV Clinic emphasizes that it will continue its activity with correctness, professionalism and transparency, maintaining its reputation for over 20 years of professionalism and medical ethics.
