The Pristina Prosecution has requested the maximum sentence, life imprisonment, for Naim Murseli and the other defendants in the case of the murder of Liridona Ademaj.

During the court session, the Ademaj family's lawyer, Leutrim Syla, argued that the evidence administered during the process confirmed the position taken at the beginning of the investigation, that this was a serious crime planned and carried out in collaboration.

According to him, throughout all the hearings, including the defense phase, it has been proven that the accused themselves have contributed to the unraveling of the incident, through mutual statements and elements that have emerged from the investigation.

He also emphasized that the defense's attempt to shift responsibility to Naim Murseli was not successful, while he praised the role of police investigators, who through video recordings have enabled the full documentation of meetings and communications between the accused.

In his argument, Syla described the case as unusual due to the length of planning, emphasizing that, according to the evidence, three people organized the murder of a woman for about a year and then attempted to avoid responsibility.

In this context, he underlined that for such a crime there can be no other punishment than life imprisonment, asking the trial panel to give the maximum sentence to all three defendants.

"Honorable jury, present, today we speak on behalf of the one who is not here, we speak on behalf of her children, her family and on behalf of all the Albanian-speaking people and beyond who sympathize with this case. Since the initial hearing and in each session, including the defense, in each session it has been argued what we said at the beginning that this macabre crime will be solved by the accused themselves, whether by accusing each other or collaborating.

The protection of Kokala and Plava was taken from Naim Murseli, but they did not succeed. We were lucky to have a team of police investigators who, through video recordings, enabled us to have the full picture of their meetings.

"We have never had a case where three men plan to kill a woman for a year and then try to exonerate themselves. There is no maximum sentence higher than life imprisonment, so nothing less should be done in this case,"  Syla said.
