The final verdict against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague has been postponed to July 20, 2026.
The news was confirmed to RTK by the lawyer of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi, Luka Mishetić, who confirmed the accuracy of the reports about the change in the date of the announcement of the verdict.
"I can confirm that this is correct," Misetic stated, in response to the question of whether the report about the postponement of the decision to July 20 is true.
Initially, the announcement of the verdict was scheduled for May 19, in accordance with the procedural deadlines. However, according to the Rules of Procedure of the Special Court, the trial panel has 90 days to issue a verdict, with the possibility of an extension of another 60 days.
In this way, the epilogue of one of the most important court trials in The Hague against former KLA leaders is expected to be made public on July 20, 2026.
