The Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes in the Kosovo Police has announced that it has launched investigations into a threat against Prime Minister Albin Kurti, published on social networks by the profile "Severna Brigada", an organization declared a terrorist organization by Kosovo institutions.
According to the official announcement, on May 8, 2026, the authorities received information about the threat against Kurti and immediately launched investigative actions in coordination with the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo and the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes.
" It has been determined that the threat was published through the account facebook.com/severna.brigada.2025 ," the Kosovo Police statement said.
Preliminary investigations show that the post was made from the territory of Serbia, specifically from the city of Kraljevo.
" Based on the data provided, the posting was made from the territory of the Republic of Serbia, specifically from the city of Kraljevo in the Republic of Serbia. In this case, the IP address used and the personal data used during registration were identified ," the police announced.
Kosovo authorities also said that additional information has been identified that could help continue the investigation.
" From the analyses conducted by the competent units, additional data have been identified that can assist in further intensive investigation by the Kosovo Police and the SPRK ," the statement further states.
"Severna Brigada", also known as the "Northern Brigade", has been declared a terrorist organization by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo due to its activities and actions in the north of the country.
