Evi Kokalari, the Albanian-American activist, who has expressed her desire to run for the position of leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, but has not yet received a response from this party whether or not she will be allowed to enter the race, has drawn a parallel between herself and Peter Magyar, the leader of Tisza, the party that won the elections in Hungary.
Kokalari says she is the only one who can win the elections and defeat both Edi Rama and Sali Berisha. She writes in a post on social media that she has spared no one when it comes to exposing corruption, including those who I once had friends with in the US and who I still face.
“ Magyar Peter, who defeated Viktor Orbán today in Hungary, was once part of his party, until he left and began exposing the regime’s corruption.
Even after Viktor Orbán received public support from Donald Trump, JD Vance, and even Israel, he suffered a massive defeat.
Same thing with me: I turned on Sali Berisha for corruption, after he promised radical changes for the Democratic Party of Albania, but instead, he sold the local elections and hermetically closed the party.
I guarantee you: only I can win against Sali Berisha and Edi Rama. I have spared no one when it comes to exposing corruption, including those who I once had friends with in the US and who I still face.
The message for Sali Berisha is clear: not even $10 million will buy support to continue holding hostage the DP, the opposition, and, consequently, radical change in Albania.
"If Viktor Orbán, with all his power and support, lost, you don't have even 1/10,000th of his weight or strength ," Kokalari writes.
