The process of counting diaspora votes is still ongoing in the Olympic Park, while the process is considered closed in the Kukes Region, where all votes, both domestic and foreign, as well as preferential votes, have been counted.
Meanwhile, the process of counting diaspora votes has been completed for electoral subjects in 6 districts, while preferential votes continue for the districts of Durrës, Tirana, Shkodra, Fier, Dibra and Lezha.
Meanwhile, in the regions of Korça, Gjirokastër, Vlorë, Elbasan and Berat, counting continues for both electoral subjects and preferential votes.
The counting of diaspora votes is not expected to change the outcome between the entities in the distribution of mandates, but it seems that they affect the candidate lists in terms of their ranking.
In at least two cases, one in Kukës and one in Tirana, there were changes in the ranking of candidates. In the case of Kukës, we have the change in the list of the DP-ASHM, while in Tirana in the list of the SP, where Olta Xhaçka has surpassed Blerina Gjylameti in the ranking.
The latter had secured the mandate of MP with votes within the country, but from the votes of the Diaspora, she gave up her seat in the Assembly to former minister Olta Xhaçka.
According to official CEC figures, 192,155 envelopes containing emigrant votes were counted and referenced out of a total of 195,141.
The Socialist Party won 114,126 votes, or 60.06%, and the Democratic Party 46,009 votes, or 24.21%.
The initiative Albania is Made by the Diaspora counts 14,353 votes, while Agron Shehaj's Opportunity 5,864 votes.
