The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at the media conference, was also asked about the actions they will take after yesterday's session, where the opposition caused chaos and the socialists voted within 25 minutes on the program and the new government.
According to Berisha, this "narco-government" as he refers to it, will be met with a vengeance in all forms.
"The opposition is very clear that with this narco-government, which has transformed the electoral process into an electoral farce, there is only frontal war in all its forms, in parliament, outside parliament, and we will respond tooth for tooth to all this effort to suppress pluralism in Albania," said Berisha.
The leader of the DP was also asked about the possible candidate of the DP for the dismissal of Erion Veliaj as mayor of Tirana. Berisha said that they will join the votes with the majority to vote for the dismissal of Veliaj since, according to him, such an action has been requested by them for a long time since the mayor was arrested.
"Citizens are witnesses that in every meeting of the municipal council, the DP councilors have requested, have insisted on the immediate dismissal of Erion Veliaj. And if Edi Rama decides to join the votes with the opposition for his dismissal, we of course cannot fail to vote for the fulfillment of that request that we have made in every meeting of the municipal council. Is this clear, I believe? Clear. So it is not us... that they have made headlines ready and today this has been that underground message. It is not us who are joining the votes, it is they who are coming to us.
"Of course not for our purposes, but only for the purposes of Edi Rama. Edi Rama cannot keep Erion Veliaj as a tombstone around his neck, he will bury him definitively and as soon as possible. But we will maintain the same attitude towards Edi Rama. Mission accomplished with Erion Veliaj, now it is Edi Rama's turn with Lubina. All the issues raised here will receive answers in the coming days from the forums and consultations of the DP, whether with the forums or with the allies," said Berisha.
