Prime Minister Edi Rama has declared that the country's roads will be covered with security cameras. He emphasized that there will also be cameras inside school classrooms.
"It took us months, which could have been a year, to conclude the most important agreement on security with the United Arab Emirates, which has now finally been concluded and which will give us the opportunity to have smart cities, complete coverage with smart cameras from the streets to schools, inside the classroom, to give us a level of security of the highest European standard," said Rama.
He said that Minister Koçiu will have a leading role in this process as well.
"These parameters, which I also mentioned in the program that I did not present yesterday, are related to a larger work of the Ministry of Interior. Big cities and major national axes, high security in schools, with a video recording system of all activity inside the school. There will be no more stories about how many knives there were, how far away they were, or who was the first to slap someone else, which then turns into hair-pulling between parent and parent, or parent and teacher. Aerial surveillance with intelligent drones!", he added.
The Prime Minister ironically mocked the work done to date by the State Police, emphasizing that it has been more part of the problem than the solution.
"Where would they find that criminal there at the top of Dajti, meanwhile here in the middle of Tirana's eye, the illegal floors," he declared during the presentation of the Minister of Interior, Albana Koçiu.
