Today, the new structures of the Assembly are expected to be finalized, with the approval of the opposition's proposals for permanent parliamentary committees and international delegations.
After a series of calls by the Socialists for the full constitution of the Assembly, the Democrats submitted the names of the members of the committees on Tuesday, however, tensions between the parties are expected. The last plenary session lasted very little and the government program was voted with 82 votes in favor amidst noise, in record time. It was this session that caused the debates between the parties today. The leader of the Democrats, Sali Berisha, demanded "the return of that session", calling it a "stain of shame".
Then, in their speech, the opposition attacked Niko Pelesh, saying that he is not the Speaker of the Parliament, but selected by Edi Rama.
"Morally, you are not a speaker, it is something human. The parliament belongs to the Albanians, it is not the prime minister's court," said MP Tomor Alizoti to the speaker of the Assembly.
"Are you ashamed that even your ministers haven't spoken?!" added Luciano Boçi.
